Are there times when I should disconnect the tiltrotator?

Yes, for example when moving large volumes of earth or digging very narrow, deep trenches. It’s also advisable to remove the tiltrotator in jobs where extra breakout force is required. Disconnecting the tiltrotator is quick and easy if the excavator is fitted with a hydraulic quick coupler. engcon's Q-Safe quick coupler makes things extra-efficient together with the automatic connection system, EC-Oil. Tiltrotator, oil, electrical and central lubrication are then connected automatically without the need for the operator to leave the cab.
