engcon updates its rotating brushes for excavators

In 2009, engcon introduced a rotating brush series for excavators which soon became a favourite with a great many contractors, especially those who work with excavators in city environments and railway contractors who sweep tracks and points.

The rotating brushes – which come in 5 widths from 800 mm up to 2000 mm – are enjoying a thorough upgrade.

They will now be offered with an optional splash guard of an entirely new-design that covers half the brush to prevent stone shots while sweeping. The splash guard can also be adjusted to three positions or removed if necessary.

What's more, the brushes are now modular with bolted side panels. Brush quality has been improved and the intermediate rings removed. These improvements mean quicker, simpler brush replacement.

Pontus Johansson, development design engineer at engcon Group is pleased with the results of his work.

"Our new rotating brushes series stems from wishes expressed by our customers through customer surveys and face-to-face meetings out in the field. Our new modular system also means that wider, special-order units are easier to make," says Pontus, the engineer who led the SR 800B – 2000B series development effort.
