engcon’s founder Stig Engström wins award at gala

On 15 March 2017, Stig Engström, founder of engcon, was honoured with the Founder of the Year Award by the Swedish entrepreneurs' network, Founders Alliance.

The explanation for the award reads: “Stig was recognised for his long-term, successful entrepreneurship, during which time he has developed, among other things, the Tiltrotator – an accessory for excavators"

“It is a great honour to be chosen from so many talented entrepreneurs from all over the country,” said Stig Engström.

Founders Alliance founder and CEO, Niclas Carlsson, commented:
“It’s gratifying to spotlight a profitable, enduring entrepreneurial company that does business worldwide. What's more, the fact that Stig Engström creates and develops his products himself and combines innovation and entrepreneurship in is even more satisfying. engcon's steady growth shows it is a company with the potential to continue its profitable expansion in a burgeoning market."

“I’m deeply impressed by how Stig Engström has developed his company into a successful business. My dad ran a haulage company, so Engcon's business is particularly close to my heart,” said Monika Wannholm from accountancy firm Grant Thornton.

The Founder of the Year Award honours entrepreneurs who have built successful businesses in an exemplary manner based on criteria covering sales, profitability, number of employees and commitment to the community. The purpose of the award is to encourage the establishment of enduring companies in Sweden, and to reward and spotlight exceptionally successful entrepreneurs.
