engcon turns 25 – celebrates with Silver Edition

In just 25 years, engcon has gone from being a one-man band to the world's leading tiltrotator company. We will celebrate this with many events during the year, and our best-selling EC219 has been produced in a limited edition finished in sliver.

"I'm immensely proud of the innovative, international group we've put together over these 25 years. But even though we're passing a historic milestone, we've only just begun our journey," says engcon founder and principal owner Stig Engström.

The 25-year anniversary will be celebrated with several events and new offers. All of engcon's products are usually painted in a distinct yellow colour, but now an exception is being made for a limited series, the Silver Edition, of the popular tiltrotator EC219 painted in silver.

"We like to challenge the industry with our products and with a silver tiltrotator, the customer will get an excavator that stands out," says Stig Engström.

It was in 1990 that Stig Engström left the company Noreco, where he had first come into contact with a rotating and tilting quick hitch. He moved home to Lidsjöberg, founded engcon and began developing and improving the tiltrotator at home in his garage. During the first few years, development took place on a small scale and at the end of 1993, the first product EC20 was sold and then delivered to the customer in the following year.

From the beginning, Stig Engström had been convinced of the tiltrotator's international potential and in 1998, the product was exhibited at the international trade fair Bauma in Germany.

Today, engcon is a world leading group of engineering companies with three brands of construction accessories for excavators, tractors, wheel loaders, road graders and trucks. engcon has its own companies throughout Europe and distributors and dealers around the world. Stig Engström has received a number of awards for positive and excellent entrepreneurship and in 2009, engcon was named a Marathon Gazelle by Dagens Industri and this year had sales of around SEK 600 million and 165 employees.

EC219 Silver Edition is now available in a numbered jubilee edition. It is sold together with the smart DC2 control system and the special offer also includes a smartphone and an attachment check for SEK 5,000.
