New GR20RR taking the strain

The new GR20RR (Rail Road) has been developed by engcon in cooperation with a number of Swedish railway contractors. The result is a grab that is very strong and has a good angle of attack (angled downwards 35–42 degrees towards the object to be grabbed and lifted.

The GR20RR has a sturdy construction specially developed for the tough environments grabs are exposed to on the railways, which often involves pulling and lifting heavy pieces of rails and sleepers.

Niclas Thunberg has worked as an excavator operator for eleven years, including the last three years working solely on railway contract in the Stockholm region. The new GR20RR has allowed him to further streamline his work.”It’s strong and can take a lot of strain,” says Niclas. ”As the grab is angled downwards, it’s als significantly easier to work with when you’re sitting on the track in the excavator.”

The GR20RR has a large grab width of 82 mm and well protected cylinders. It is suitable for engcon’s EC15B, EC219 and EC226 tiltrotators.
